Product Description

Founded 1884 in Scotland, James Buchanan & Co almost immediately in became the only whisky supplier of the British House of Commons. Soon thereafter, the company received royal orders to supply Queen Victoria and Prince of Wales and then in 1901, Buchanan because the supplier to the British Royalty. In 1907 he was asked to become the official supplier for the Emperor of Japan and the Royal Court of Spain.

Today this pioneer introduces a new delicious and harmonious 15 year old blend, with real depth of flavor and a character. This Buchanan's Select is a rich amber color, with flavors of golden syrup, toffee apple, fine oloroso sherry, and autumn leaves.

The nose is rich with buttery toffee, nut brittle, with hints of chopped nuts in treacle. Lighter notes of crisp autumn-ripe apple and pear soon rise above the base, while the development reveals dried fruits and fruit compote.

The texture is smooth and the taste starts toffee-sweet, then brings forth salty-spicy waves, and smoky barbecue. The finish is medium to long, delightfully drying and finally bittersweet, with a smoky-spicy, peppery note ever present to keep the palate warm.
