The First Spouse Coin and Medal Program was introduced by the U.S. Mint in 2007 to commemorate our Presidential spouses. One gold coin and bronze medal was issued for each Spouse that features their portrait, name, and the order and years of their term. For Presidents who were not married while in office, a classic depiction of Lady Liberty is inscribed with an image of a theme from that President’s life. The collection offered here includes a surprise assortment of 3 different bronze Spouse medals that will honor 3 historical figures such as Martha Washington, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jaqueline Kennedy, Nancy Regan, and many other famous women. Each bronze medal is protected by an archival quality plastic sleeve and housed in a black velvet collector’s pouch—perfect for gifting, safe storage, and preservation.
