Product Description

From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged “Oda Nobunaga” Katana. Featuring a full tang 1060 high carbon steel blade, this resilient katana is sharp right out of the box.

The tsuba design is inspired by one of the 6 warlords of Japan: Oda Nobunaga. One of the daimyō in the late 16th century, he attempted to unify Japan during the late Sengoku period, and successfully gained control over most of Honshu. Nobunaga was widely known for his brutal suppression of determined opponents, eliminating those who by principle refused to cooperate or yield to his demands. He reign was noted for innovative military tactics, fostering free trade, and encouraging the Momoyama historical art period.

A unique feature of this sword is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, which enables the user to wield the katana more smoothly, and puts less stress on the hands— perfect for advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.

All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. Mokko Gata style Tusba, Fuchi, Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. Real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.

FAQ
Who is the maker of this sword?

Musha is the maker of the sword. Musha is the sister brand of our award winning Musashi. It is hand-forged in the same forge as Musashi swords.

How many folds?

The Oda Nobunaga was forged using traditional maru technique. The entire sword is composed of a single steel with just one layer. However, due to modern steels being used, this does not cause the sword to be fragile, as in former days.
