WhistlePig
The Boss Hog Sirens Song IX // 750 ml
Product Description
An old dairy farm turned whiskey-making paradise, WhistlePig is on a mission to craft some of the finest and most interesting rye whiskeys. Their original Master Distiller, Dave Pickerell, began crafting this unique line after discovering and purchasing an incredible stock of 10-year old blending whiskey. Aged in Vermont oak barrels for extended periods of time, each expression possessed tremendous depth and complexity younger bottles simply could not accomplish. Today, they remain free from the old conventions to create rye that lives up to its true potential.
WhistlePig unveils the latest chapter in The Boss Hog odyssey, a journey through parts previously unknown in the world of whiskey. It begins with some of the oldest Rye on their farm. Then, a double finish in barrels formerly holding Greek fig nectar and homemade Tentura—a Greek style liqueur inspired by Ancient Patras. The result is Siren’s Song—an adventure for the ages befitting its own ode. It beckons you with refrains of supple sweetness and exotic spice. Honoring WhistlePig's five promises for every edition of The Boss Hog, you are guaranteed a stupendous and powerfully complex whiskey; single barrel in origin, bottled at proof, and unique from anything you’ve ever tasted before.
For the first time ever, the cask finishes for this particular edition were crafted by WhistlePig's own whiskey makers: Liz Rhoades and Meghan Ireland. The dynamic duo were inspired by the Muses of Greek Mythology – each of whom is depicted on one of nine bespoke pewter toppers: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania. Amass them all if you dare; these mothers of creation also birthed the mischievous and mysterious sirens.
