The Limited Edition Mann Egerton Hand Assembled Rutland Observer in Rose Red men’s watch is named for Frederick Rutland who won renown for his exploits during the Battle of Jutland in 1916, for which he was awarded the Albert Medal In Gold. It was during this battle where he flew Mann Egerton’s Short 184, which was the only British aircraft involved in the battle over the North Sea.
Precise chronograph movement operates the timepiece with succinct quality and mimics Rutland’s keen observations required while in-flight. The jam-red dial is accented with a swirling pattern detail and combined with Minutes, Hours and Seconds counters, while luminous hands are included to represent hope.
It is adorned with the Mann Egerton logo-engraved stainless steel caseback. The rose gold IP case indicates Rutland’s superior performance during a decisive battle, while the wine-red leather strap represents the celebrations that came following its conclusion as British forces successfully contained the German fleet.
