The Gerald Genta Gefica Safari timepiece is believed to have been created by the Swiss watch designer Gérald Genta upon a request from three hunters – with the watch’s name derived from the first two letters of their names: Geoffroy, Fissore and Canali. The case of the watch is made of bronze, famous for its patina-prone quality that, over time, reflects the watch’s wearer and environment. Bronze was also a good choice because it wouldn't reflect light and spook an animal, and because its warm earthy tones remind of the dusty African landscape and the rugged nature of hunting.
