Kurobuta pork is considered the pork equivalent of American Wagyu or Kobe beef. Hailing from Japan, Kurobuta stems from the Berkshire breed, which is renowned for its hefty fat content and exceptional tenderness. This results in a major textural upgrade from traditional tough cuts of pork, as well as more flavor than what you'll find in traditional grocery stores.
For best results, remove the Kurobuta Ham from the bag and place it on a rack in an open pan. Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan, then bake in the oven at 325° for 10 minutes per pound. Heat covered for the first hour, then uncovered for the remaining time. Once out of the oven, let it sit uncovered for 30 minutes before carving, serving, and enjoying.
