Product Description

Christiane was the codename of Blanche Charlet, an agent for Britain’s Special Operations executive during the Second World War. Her story is one of the most fascinating of the time, surviving capture and imprisonment at the hands of the Axis. She escaped her bondage and returned to England in 1944. The Gamages Of London Ladies Christiane Twilight in Blue pays tribute to her service which saw her awarded an MBE by King George.

The intricate Swiss Quartz movement bears a resemblance to the careful steps Charlet took while in service. Its dusk-navy dial is enhanced by the hands, 12-Hour indices and a diamond in the 12 position that help maintain a discreet but elegant style. These features combine to create something fitting for those who operated in the background, yet still played an important part in the war effort.

The Gamages Of London logo engraved stainless steel caseback adorns the reverse, while the navy-blue leather strap offers a mysterious appeal that represents the clandestine duties that Charlet welcomed as part of her missions.
