The Dead Mans Hand is a legendary poker hand, specifically two pairs: black aces and black eights. It is named after the Old Wests gunfighter and lawman Wild Bill Hickok. He was famously holding this hand when he was shot in the back of the head in Deadwood, South Dakota on August 2, 1876.
