1943 P Lincoln Penny ORIGINAL BU ROLL WRAPPER

We are offering a VERY VERY RARE 1943 P (Philadelphia) stunning Gem Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) complete solid date roll of Lincoln STEEL cents. What makes this stand out is the fact that they are in an Original Bank Wrapper!
  
These rolls were sourced from an estate.  They are from the original owner who purchased them back when they were minted and have been stored and well preserved since then. 

They are in the ORIGINAL BANK WRAPPER (OBW).  It is extremely rare to find these coins in this condition with the OBW.

If you look at the “end caps” (the ends of the roll), you can see that the coins were stored properly as these are steel pennies and they will rust just like regular steel.

In 1943 the mint experimented with steel pennies. Copper was desperately needed for ammunition, wiring, and other military equipment during WWII. The US Mint switched to low carbon steel coated with zinc in order to conserve over 40,000 pounds of copper and tin which was essential for the war effort.

These rolls are called “shotgun” rolls, due to the fact that they look like an actual shot gun shell.
