We are pleased to offer for sale this 1992 P (Philadelphia) Ben Franklin Firefighters Proof Silver Medal. He was the organizer of our first fire service in 1736! This historic medal was specially designed by the United States Mint to commemorate Ben Franklin's contributions to the American Fire Service and to recognize the achievements and needs of America's fire services.

The coin comes with the original U. S. Mint case (see pics). This commemorative coin also has the original Certificate of Authenticity.
The medal is comprised of 99.9% pure silver and contains 1 Troy Ounce of Silver. One troy ounce is equal to 1.097 standard ounces, making it around 10% heavier.
Obverse: Features a depiction of Benjamin Franklin and a fire fighters’ helmet.
Reverse: A firefighter rescuing a small child adorns the reverse of this medal with the words, "Fire Service Bill of Rights, By Act of Congress." "To Serve and Protect"
