Triceratops Horn
Product Description
This incredible fossilized brown horn is from a Triceratops (Triceratops horridus). One of the most famous dinosaurs, the Triceratops was first found by Arthur Lakes in 1887 just west of Denver, Colorado, in the town of Morrison, and named by Othniel Charles Marsh. The skull was heavy and distinctive, boasting three horns, a parrot-like beak, and a frill that could reach three feet wide. It was one of the largest skulls known to come from any land animal. Reaching a length of about 24 feet, Triceratops is famous for often fighting off the hungry Tyrannosaurs rex. This particular fossil was found in the Hell Creek Formation in Montana and is dated back to the Maastrichtian Age, late Cretaceous Period (67-66 million years ago). It comes on a custom metal stand.
