British Bronze-Barreled Flintlock Conversion Pistol // Early 1800's
Product Description
An excellent British bronze-barreled flintlock pistol made in the early 1800’s and converted to a percussion lock system shortly thereafter. The gun features an octagonal to round barrel with "London" engraved on the top flat and two British proof marks to the left. The original firing system has been replaced with a cast bronze lock plate supporting a steel hammer. The bore shows green oxidization throughout and there is heavy fouling at the muzzle. Overall in very nice condition with some damage commensurate with age. Total length 16.25”. Hammer still holds at half and full cock with strong action. This is an antique and not warranted safe to shoot and it should not be attempted without the aid of an expert. It definitely has a great "pirate" vibe... an excellent addition to any collection! Ex Thomaston, ME private weapons collection. Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
