Product Description

An antique French Model An XIII flintlock cavalry pistol, manufactured by the Imperial arsenal at Saint-Étienne. The lock plate is clearly marked "Man[ufacture] imp[eriale] de St. Etienne," and the barrel bears a stamp "B 1812" indicating a manufacture date, placing it firmly within the Napoleonic era. The pistol features a dark wooden stock, with iron or steel components for the barrel and lock. Brass furniture includes the trigger guard, a front barrel band marked "G*" and "4," and a butt cap marked "H." Additional faint markings "P T" are visible near the lock screw. Beautiful condition, with some dings, dents and scuffs commensurate with age. It has a nice, rich patina, and the hammer holds cock, with a tight snap, however it is not recommended to snap the flint with the strike plate down as that could further chip the flint. Total pistol length 13.50”. Acrylic stand is not included, was used for photography purposes only. Ex Henderson, TX private weapons collection.

Please Note: This is an antique and not warranted safe to shoot and it should not be attempted without the aid of an expert.

Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
