The front depicts a diademed Celticized male head right resembling Augustus Caesar; upraised hand to his right / The back with a large Sphinx advancing right with paw upraised; star to right. Coin reference: ACIP 2143; SNG BM Spain 1323 for type. Excellent dark olive-green patina with light earthen highlights. 26.9 mm, 12.85 grams. Good VF. From the Ibarra Collection, Spain.Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
